Wow! Blew me away and got the gears ticking so loud I think my neighbours heard them… Feel free to edit this bit out if it’s too close to competitive, but I’m thinking “I help overworked desk jockeys reclaim time and freedom from their bosses, without having to take the big leap and quit their job”
Oh, and what I’m most looking forward to when I get time freedom? One thing in particular, but also one in general:
In general, I’m anticipating spending more time with the people who are important to me, instead of all day with people who just happen to work at the same place.
In particular, though, I’m REALLY looking forward to those nasty, wet, rainy, windy days, and being able to roll over under the doona, tucked up and warm, listening to it pelt down and howl outside as I relax with a book, instead of dragging myself out into it wondering if the trains would still be running to get me home!
That’s awesome Crystal. Hope you didn’t wake them up.
If I did, they’d be used to it by now with my early starts
BTW, 26 Jan is a public holiday here for Australia Day, and the night before I was lying on the bed reading, listening to the wind & rain, and suddenly realised I didn’t have to go to work tomorrow!!!
When things manifest THAT fast, how can I be on anything but the right path? Sign me up!
My goal is simple: I want to be available and present as I raise my nine children, while teaching them to live their passions by example, and to enjoy the financial freedom to relieve my anxiety of raising such a large family on my own.
That’s a damn fine goal Jennifer. Thanks for sharing.
Great video. To answer your question.
I’m mostly looking forward to truly engage with my customers again and not play the marketing bullshit soundtrack. The relationship that I’ll build based on a clear destination and well defined target audience will get me out of bed in the future.
Cheers.
Hagen
The world definitely doesn’t need more of any marketing bs soundtrack. Thanks for commenting Hagen.
I agree very much that the offer is the main consideration.
As to testimonials – I tend to ignore them unless you provide stats on the numbers who have done the course and how many found success.
Most looking forward to – less stress about housing
Hey Evan, we’d be happy to provide those stats if you’d like to email us.
What will I do with my new found freedom?
First if all great job of distilling months of reading, signing up for a variety of courses and umpteen hours of watching videos into a 15minute voice over!
Second, I look back to when I was a kid, cutting out ads in the back of magazines in search of the perfect opportunity. I had big plans for my adulthood, travel the world, swim in distant seas, follow the actual foot or horse paths of historical figures in important occurrences that affected and shaped our current world.
Somewhere down the line, I can’t really remember (or don’t want to) I unknowingly signed a long term contract with a huge chain and stake attached to a hillside of granite we sometimes call an everyday job.
Have you ever seen a fruit tree grown in a small wooden planter? Some call them bonsai, they can even get them to grow a miniature version of fruits.
Our gifts or talents, when bound by the restraints of most dead end jobs become bonsai in size. They look great, if you squint with one eye and put the rest of the big picture out of focus. But step back, shake your head a bit and take in the complete scenario and you see how by letting the roots grow free, our gifts and talents can grow to their fullest potential and affect all those around us in ways that make a bigger impact. My fruits have matured 22 years later and seem to be consistent year after year, now only if they were allowed to grow to their full potential.
With my new found freedom, I plan to…
1. Help people put distance between the stresses in their life that take away much of the joy. How? By giving people the knowledge, direction and tools to be their own boss at what ever level they feel comfortable or achieve their higher purpose and have a degree of peace of mind and happiness. Because isn’t that what life should be about?
2. Oh ya, and eat bugs with the indigenous people of the worlds hidden jungles, posting videos on my blog of course!
I wish you the best with your course!
Sounds like you’ve got an adventure ahead of you man. Bug eating is no joke.
I am looking forward for be comleatly relaxed and happy when I opening eyes everyday morning.
That’s definitely something to look forward to. Thanks for stopping by Klaudiusz.
Jonathan, This video had me from the beginning. You have a way of honestly and immediately connecting with your viewers/readers. I can’t tell you hoe refreshing that is.
What I’m looking forward to is forging a way for others to follow along with me instead of watching as the parade passes. I’m a single dad raising a teenager, the last of 4 kids. My life will be very different in a few years. I have been ‘that guy’ for way too long. Although I’m already online building, I haven’t gotten it right just yet and, as a result, do not a clear path to my own destination.
Thanks for being the light on my path, Jonathan.
Thanks Barry, I appreciate that. I’m sure if you stay the course long enough you’ll find the path you’re supposed to be on.
Great message in this video. So many people can relate to taking their “dream” and turning it into actionable steps. Love that you point out that hard work is involved, this is not “pie in the sky”, magic button type of stuff.
I make a special effort to focus on the good things in my life because that is necessary to overcome the stress and pressure I am under (mostly financial). So I am most looking forward to finally being able to truly relax and get rid of this dark cloud that is constantly hanging over my head and get true joy back into my life. This will have the ripple effect of giving back more of my time to my family and others I care about. Thanks for the clarity of your message!
You’re right. Sometimes you can find a single thread to work on that unravels all the others. Good luck Tina.
When I reclaim my freedom, I will love to continue learning and imparting. My learning now is impeded by my finance, which slows down my burning passion to learn and teach. Freedom will mean so much to be, that I will continue to be able to give back to the world, without worry about my next meal.
Becoming financially free is a huge weight lifted off your life. I’m on the same page as you Lionel.
I am most looking forward to waking up in the morning and being able to take my dog for a walk. He has spent the last couple years of his life trapped in a cage for 10+ hours a day while I commute over an hour to the office, work for 8 hours and then commute an hour home. When I reclaim my freedom, I am looking forward to taking back all the time I’ve missed with my dog and finally showing him that I meant what I said when I told him I was quitting my job this year.
That’s too sweet Jennifer.
Painting art pieces that inspire people!
Rock on man.
When I reclaim my freedom I’m most looking forward to traveling. My fiancé and I would love to buy an Airstream and go on an awesome road trip, visiting as many places from Roadside America as we can. Having my own freedom business would mean that I could work when I wanted to and I’d be able to create some amazing memories for years to come. In the future when we decide to have kids it will be great to be able to be with them during the day and not have to choose between spending time with or supporting my family.
Keep at it man, you’ll get there soon enough.
Seeing the world! getting my life back! freedom in exploring my passion everyday!!
Sounds like a pretty good idea to me.
Spending more time with my child
That’s a pretty noble motivation if you ask me. Your heart is obviously in the right place.
Freedom is what drives me to grow my business. When I reclaim my freedom, I will be able to set my own schedule. When I want to hang out with my wife and kid I don’t have to answer to anyone else. I do it because that’s what I want to do in that moment.
Great video!
Thanks Karl!
It’s just frustrating to know what I want to do, but at the same time, struggling to figure out how I could accomplish my dream by myself.
There’s a whole community here ready to help you.
I look forward to reclaim my freedom so I can:
Go to bed and close my eyes with a huge smile that reflects my feelings of fulfillment, satisfaction, and enjoyment. And be a bit anxious waiting for the morning to open my eyes and do it all over again.
Beautiful way to put it Paul.
Jonathan,
This video sums up my exact feeling about life. I started blogging a year ago for these very reasons. I was headed down the path of a lifelong cubicle dweller, but have changed course.
You’ve been an inspiration for me and I can only hope to share in the same successes you’ve had…
I’m sure it’s just a matter of time for you Steve.
hehehe – funny – since my dream IS actually living in a van down by the river… and conducting business from that van
And, with the help of all your blogs and videos, this is exactly the kind of freedom I am going to have, starting in April of this year! Epic rockclimbing roadtrip is going down + business is well under way.
It’s literally my dream come true.
ThankYou ThankYou ThankYou for helping to make it all happen!
xx becca
Hey, being in a van by the river might not be so bad now that you’ve got me thinking about it. Guess it depends on the river.
finally i can put to use the skills i have learnt working for other people. thanks jonathan for helping me to build the ‘offer’. i had only been considering the final goal and not the path to reach it. thank you for giving me the clarity to think this process through before giving my boss the finger…that still is my dream
Glad I could be of service Daniella
The thing I am looking forward to most when I have my freedom is the ability to give back. There are many people in the world in various levels of need. Some need food, some need encouragement, some need a mentor. With limited resources, there is only so much I can do. Most of all, I want to be able to give my time, the most valuable resource any of us have. Thanks for the great video
You’re welcome. Thanks for sharing your feedback Alan.
Jonathan, what I’m looking forward the MOST when I reclaim my freedom, is to keep doing the work that I’m doing now. To invest more time on it and learn how to make it better. And also expand the reach of it.
I get this feeling that what most people want to achieve when they get into the “affiliate marketing/blogging/internet business/kill your 9 to 5″ scene, is to gradually reduce the amount of work they do each week to the greatest minimum possible; to automate and do less and less and less work, so they can focus on doing stuff they actually care about. Like sharing with their family and kids, traveling, dancing, singing, painting, climbing mountains, whatever. You know, the promise of the 4HWW.
And I respect that point of view. But it doesn’t resonate with me. As you once said, work is SACRED, but it doesn’t have to be a chore. It can be so enjoyable and meaningful that you don’t discern work-time from free-time or play-time. It can be so damn awesome and fulfilling that you have to FORCE yourself to take a break and get away from your work for a bit.
I don’t want to be free so I can do less work. I want to reclaim my freedom so I can do MORE of my work. I want to be financially independent so I don’t have to worry about my bills or my groceries or whatever, and I can focus on creating and delivering something valuable to people. Something that has the potential of changing lives.
I want to be free so I can focus on my mission; on that something that I know only I can give to the world.
In short: If I won the lottery right now, if I never had to worry about money ever again, I would do exactly what I’m doing now: Learn, create, deliver, pursue my mission and make a difference.
I know stuff like hanging out with friends and family and taking care of our bodies are important parts of life too. But my mission is my priority.
I’m sorry if this message sounded obnoxious, but it’s just how I feel. It’s my answer to your question.
Not obnoxious at all. Thanks for sharing your thoughts man.
When I reclaim my freedom, I’ll be able to sleep at night knowing where my next paycheck is coming from, knowing that it’s all in my hands. I’ll be able to see my contribution to the world and the value I’ve added in those I’ve helped. Someone else won’t be able to determine my value with the size of a paycheck. I’m worth so much more than that to the world.
After reclaiming my freedom, my impact on the world won’t be limited to a job, it will be limitless.
Beautiful.
Great video, thanks! I am looking forward to finally not being stuck in an office, doing work that does have an impact and that I love. And finally being able to cook my lunch and sit down while eating:-) And not to be around complaining colleagues that are waiting for the next weekend….
That’s not too much to ask for, eh?
I’m most looking forward to replacing the dread I feel upon waking with sensations of gratitude and excitement for the day ahead. Even Sunday mornings have turned into an opportunity to dwell on the negative (only one more day of freedom ’til work starts again). To willingly smile when I hear my alarm is the thing I really can’t wait for.
I know all about how that feels. There is hope for you yet Rebecca. Keep at it.
When I reclaim my freedom I’m most looking forward to a stress-free life with more happiness. This will stem from building and re-building relationships with family and friends that have been lost or pushed aside for someone else (work). Instead of wasting my time and energy working during the day, I can live life with my two amazingly beautiful daughters traveling or playing or simply just enjoying the world around us wherever we are. You are helping people immensely Jonathan, thank you.
You’re welcome.
Excellent videos – thanks Jonathan.
The only security we have is knowing that if we lost everything that we have the inner strength to start over.
I am most looking forward to reconnecting with my own inner strength and using it in a purposeful and meaningful way to improve my own life and the lives of those with whom I come into contact.
That’s a beautiful goal Sharon. Thanks for sharing your voice.
I think it’s nothing short of a coincidence that Trailblazer is coming out the day I go on unemployment. I too am a bit lost, but one thing I’m certain of: I do not want to go back to a soulless, paper-pushing job where I count the minutes until I can go home.
The one thing I’m looking forward to is LOVING Sunday nights when I can go back to passion, er, work! I want my motivation, purpose, and mojo back. Also I want to take a chance on me. See what I’m capable of!
Everything happens for a reason.
Very inspiring!
Thanks Marc.
When I reclaim my freedom, I am most looking forward to using my time to help develop myself physically, mentally, and spiritually. However, the quality that I most desire is self-reliance: to be able to support myself financially and to live a life on my own terms. I’m currently a third year in university and I am set on the path of establishing my own company as an entrepreneur. The dead-end job in my case is university itself – compliance with a system that I no longer fit-in with. I long for the day when I can repay my parents (esp. my mother) what I owe them, when I can propose to my girlfriend, and when I can build & nurture a family together with her. Until that day, my life will have only been half-lived.
Thank you, Jonathan, for your inspiring videos. I’m participating in several business plan competitions this year and your message/destination principle will help me refine my pitch. Namaste.
Great stuff man, glad I could help a bit.
The moments when anything is possible.
I used to work as a freelancer in theatre, and even though it was nervewracking if I did not have anything else lined up when a gig would end, there was also this sense of infinite possibility. I could go anywhere and do anything.
I never fully took advantage of that because I was too focused on building a career. Now, I get chills when I read a blog where someone describes being in one of those moments, and I can’t wait to experience them again.
9-5 is too predictable.
Amen to that
I wish I worked 9-5 but I work a rotating shift work schedule. I’m looking forward to not working weekends and night shifts. What I’m most looking forward to is spending time with the people that matter (friends, family) doing things that matter. Its time to spend more time: reading, giving, creating, and being in the company of people who make me smile.
Great stuff Jesse. I’m sure you’ll find a lot of support for those goals in this community.
With my freedom, I want to help people in a truly meaningful way. I am currently in grad school doing research that only has the remotest possibility of helping anybody improve their life. I have some of the freedom now to pursue certain hobbies or passions for personal development and self-improvement.
But what I want to do is connect with people that have faced similar challenges in the past and help them get to a more fulfilled stage in their life. This video you posted is great because it’s already helping me to craft my message and what I have to offer that is unique. My goal of ‘helping people’ is too nebulous.
With true freedom I will be able to do the things I want that cost more than I currently have while also truly making a difference in people’s lives.
Looking forward to the near-weightless sensation of knowing you’re doing shit that matters.
Mustache-approved stuff my friend, as usual.
Thanks!
Reclaiming freedom = being able to create.
In every transition of my life, when I got clear about what I wanted, everything fell into place. I love the unveiling effect that clarity and purpose bring.
I am already grateful for my incredible life, but I am looking forward to discovering and connecting with my tribe, learning and leaving a legacy, and having the autonomy and creativity to do it “my” way.
That was very inspiring, and I’m looking forward to the next video. When I get my freedom, I’m looking forward to sharing the joy, passion and clarity I feel with others more expansively- and also sharing with absolute certainty my belief that anyone who wants this freedom can have it for themselves.
What if you don’t have a dream yet? At least a clear one.
Thank you Jonathan, this video is beautiful. The thing I look forward to the most in reclaiming my freedom is helping to bring peace of mind to people who don’t know how to escape the prison of their thoughts and fears, and guiding them toward a little stillness in their lives and their experience of the world. I’m getting closer to marrying my message to the destination, and I thank you for articulating the importance of that relationship.
When I get my freedom, I am looking forward to spend more time learning, to express myself, to spend more time with the people I love and to be free to follow the things that happen along my way.

I look forward to the day that I can…
- Teach my kids how to paint, without getting frustrated that it’s taking too long.
- Start a movie with my wife, without getting frustrated that it’s getting too late.
- Have lunch with my co-workers, without the frustration of having to go back to the office.
- Drive more often for pleasure, without the frustration of having to get somewhere.
- Plan for my future earning potential, without the frustration of my current limitation (salary).
“Action is worry’s worst enemy!” Gotta get to it now.
Thanks,
-Tim
Great vid Jonathan, I look forward to working with passion. Being myself, and loving what I do.
What do I look forward to when I reclaim my freedom? So many things!!!! Most importantly I look forward to spending a lot more quality time with my wife and kids that I do not have today because I work 60 – 80 hours a week just to make ends meet. That includes taking them on a well deserved vacation together somewhere in the south for at least 7 days and ideally for a lot more than that. They deserve it. I also look forward to saying goodbye to the corporate rat race and hopefully helping some of my current co-workers to break free as well. I look forward to not needing an alarm clock to wake up – if I choose to do so!!! I look forward to following a long time dream – to play the electric guitar proficiently. I also look forward to helping my kids learn how to escape the rat race and get paid to do what they love. Last but far from least I look forward to helping many others reclaim their freedom. That would be the most rewarding thing I think I could ever do.
Really timely sentiments – thankyou.
A year down the track from realising that I cant do what I do for another 20 years without going insane permanently; with a general direction in place but lots of ideas fluffing around; with an enormous scary ogre of “risk” draping around my shoulders (in the form of a worried risk adverse partner & “under maximised superannuation”) – I SO MUCH NEED TO MAKE THIS THE YEAR WHEN I MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Finding this video has been the turning point.
When I reclaim my freedom I will be energised by my ability to change peoples experience with their garden & the sustenance they get from it. I will feel real appreciation from my clients who will offer valid feedback & want me to succeed; they will enjoy having me being part of their lives, and be proud to tell their friends about my impact on their appreciation of their garden.
When I reclaim my freedom:-
I will be home early to share my family and will work locally.
I will be happier because I love what I am doing and achieving.
I will hang out with wonderful people who inspire me.
I will have more energy to share with others.
I will be tired from passion, not tired from boredom & dissatifaction.
I will wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
And I will smile more.
The way I see and experience my world depends on the interactions between human beings and all around us.
There is no way to regain my freedom without involving everything I perceive in my world, it’s a life-time commitment, for me at least.
Upon reclaiming my freedom, I am going to contact everyone who helped me along the way (that means you, Jonathan!) and offer them my testimonial, for I plan on living a life SO GRAND people will actively seek me out just to tell my story, and to claim their services helped me get there.

Hey There. I found your blog using msn. This is a very well written article. I will make sure to bookmark it and return to read more of your useful information. Thanks for the post. I will certainly return.
I am curious to find out what blog system you are utilizing? I’m having some minor security problems with my latest blog and I’d like to find something more secure. Do you have any recommendations?
This is a fantastic site, might you be interested in doing an interview about how you developed it? If so e-mail me!
The things that I would most look forward to are: Running in the daylight, instead of the dark at 5 am. Having the time to actually create more and new dreams. Picking my daughter up from school instead of paying someone else to do it for me.
Hi,
My goal is kind of simple. I want to work for myself, in order to do things that I really love. I want to find a way to mix these things and make a product. Then sell this product and earn money whit this, and then, when I can prove that you can success in life doing what you love, help people to do the same by doing speeches, or videos, or blogpost.
At this point I don’t know how to achieve that, but I’ll find a way. That’s why I’m here
This really answered my drawback, thanks!
Good read … headline catchy … good points, some of which I have learned along the way as well (humility, grace, layoff the controversial stuff). Will share with my colleagues at work as we begin blogging from a corporate perspective. Thanks!
